We are in search of a meticulous Legal Secretary to be a part of our team located in ROYAL OAK, Michigan, United States. The selected candidate will have a key role in managing customer inquiries, maintaining precise customer records, and processing customer applications. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the legal industry.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribe dictation accurately using a Dictaphone
  • Handle the preparation of memoranda, briefs, and motion documents
  • Effectively maintain and organize files
  • Schedule matters while maintaining attorney calendars
  • Possess experience with electronic filing in various courts, including federal
  • Capable of working in a paperless office environment
  • Must be technologically proficient
  • Manage high volume settings effectively.
  • Candidate must possess a strong understanding and experience with drafting Affidavits.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a necessity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, is expected.
  • Must have the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in a law firm or legal environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to build relationships with clients and staff.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is beneficial.
  • The willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and software used in the legal field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Must have a detail-oriented demeanor and the ability to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stressful situations effectively.
  • Experience in handling legal documentation and correspondence is preferred.
