Job description

Leggett & Platt Flooring Products is searching for a Territory Manager to join our collaborative, innovative, and close-knit Midwest Region sales team.  This position will support Chicagoland and Wisconsin, servicing existing customers as well as new prospective customers.  Leggett & Platt Flooring Products is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States. We manufacture and distribute foam, rubber, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

We are looking for someone who is resourceful, self-motivated, and strategic in their approach to servicing long-term customers and researching, qualifying, and developing prospective customers in the market.  This person will be responsible for executing a sales strategy and reporting progress to management.  This is a 100% commission-based role, offering you the opportunity to control your income through your performance.

So, what will you be doing as a Territory Manager?

  • Expanding sales
  • Assisting customers with product knowledge and training
  • Representing products at trade shows and other similar functions
  • Collaborating with our manufacturing facilities
  • Supporting the customer service team
  • Managing account pricing
  • Resolving account and credit issues

To be successful in this role, you'll need :

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of successful sales experience (outside sales preferred)
  • A bachelor’s degree if no direct sales experience, preferably a bachelor’s in a business-related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power BI.
  • Overnight travel as needed
