Responsibilities / Requirements :

• Perform general clinical duties in a busy orthopedic setting
• Perform wound care / dressing changes
• Drawing up injections
• Assist with calling patients to exam room
• Call in or escribe medications
• Application of sterile fields
• Applying splints and fitting of orthotics as needed
• Collect co-pays and outstanding balances as needed
• Pre-cert and schedule surgeries and procedures
• Verifying insurance for surgery and collect surgery deductibles
• Prepare surgery forms and packets
• Schedule referral appointments to other physicians as needed
• Locate any necessary test results, and / or reports
• Prepare exam rooms, restock supplies for clinic, power up computers, etc.
• Prepare charts for clinic and print out patient information as needed
• Fill out return-to-work forms (FMLA / Short Term Disability) as needed
• Obtain signature on miscellaneous forms
• Friendly and Professional patient communication while :
• Answering and returning patient phone calls
• Providing procedure education
• Escorting patients to and from exam rooms
• Making appointment reminder calls as needed
• Responding to and charting patient messages
• Communicating test results to patients

Must also possess :
