Content Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Content Marketing Manager to join the Content Studio team within our Marketing department. In this role, the Content Marketing Manager will support full-funnel content creation with a focus on thought leadership and editorial content creation. This performance-driven individual will work to leverage their expertise in content strategy and experience in the healthcare technology sector to produce authoritative, high-quality content that attracts and engages visitors on the athenahealth website. The Content Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in developing long-form editorial content that drives thought leadership and supports various brand marketing and campaign objectives.

The Team : The athenahealth Content Studio team builds and distributes strategic content marketing assets to fuel the funnel, accelerate growth, and build the athenahealth brand.

Job Responsibilities

Create and support performance-driven full-funnel content marketing initiatives, from top-of-funnel blog posts to lower-funnel product content that reinforces our thought leadership, reputation, and brand.

Drive qualified traffic, on-page engagement, and conversions on athenahealth.com’s resource center through compelling, authoritative, optimized content, always keeping an eye toward how it performs and meets goals

Leverage strong background in healthcare tech to partner with Segment Marketing teams to develop audience-specific content that accelerates middle of funnel campaign outcomes and drives credibility in market.

Work closely with the Integrated Communications team to extend and amplify original research with derivative content you both proactively identify and provide in support of integrated motions.

Utilize AI and other innovative tools to accelerate content output and explore new formats for maximizing content effectiveness.

Support the creation of content that drives demand generation, SEO strategy, as well as campaign activities at the top, middle, and bottom of funnel

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.

5+ years of digital and web design experience

Excellent writer, editor and communicator capable of taking complex topics and products and distilling them into content that fuels the funnel

A rich portfolio demonstrating at least five years of experience creating long-form written business content – articles, reports, case studies, product guides, e-books and more – for a marketing team, preferably with B2B, SaaS experience.

Proven track record of repackaging written content assets into new “media” types – demo videos, webinars, and other formats, with a strong sense of genre, tone, and channel conventions

Pro-active self-starter capable of managing your work independently and cross-functionally on deadline, while meeting brand, legal, and strategic guidelines.

Experience with SEO and CVR optimization and other content performance metrics, with proven ability to deliver content that converts and ideas for what to do when it doesn’t.

Adaptable problem-solver with a curious mind who is excited about content in this “rapidly evolving digital landscape.”
