Job Summary
Reporting to the Library Manager, the Library Specialist is responsible for providing circulation support services within the campus library. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Performance Requirements
- Performs library work of a moderately complex nature
- Provides circulation services including organization of library materials
- Maintains circulation records and prepares reports as necessary
- Organizes reserve items
- Answers moderately complex questions, refers questions to a librarian, when appropriate
- Locates materials including databases and electronic resources for students and faculty
- Provides check in and checkout services as well as properly shelving library materials
- Effectively uses an automated circulation system
- Develops an extensive working knowledge of library services, policies and practices; and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures
- Communicates library services, policies and practices to students, faculty and staff
- Performs advanced library operational skills
- Manages technical matters and human relations issues
- Maintains operational reports and makes reports as requested

Supervision Works under the general supervision of the Library Manager
