Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities, the Assistant Director of Student Support and Intervention (hereafter referred to as the "Assistant Director") delivers non-clinical case management services to UCSF students, manages UCSF's process for centralized student complaints, and supports student conduct operations at UCSF. The Assistant Director plays a crucial role in supporting students as a Non-Clinical Case Manager, providing direct support and intervention to students, as well as collaborating with multiple departments such as Student Mental Health and Wellbeing, Basic Needs, Student Financial Services, and the UC Police Department to provide comprehensive support to students facing academic, mental health, family, and social adaptation issues. The Assistant Director serves as a primary liaison for campus community members seeking advice on support services for students in distress and plays a pivotal part in training faculty and staff on effectively engaging with and supporting these students.

The Assistant Director oversees UCSF's centralized process for handling student complaints. This role involves conducting proper intake, efficiently directing concerns to the relevant offices, and maintaining and generating detailed reports on these issues.

The Assistant Director also provides essential support to UCSF's student conduct function. The Assistant Director adjudicates low-level student conduct cases and acts as the designated back up on student conduct matters for the Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities. The Assistant Director will also facilitate restorative justice community building and restorative circles.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $116,700 (Annual Rate).
