Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Title IX Specialist Investigator at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties) :
Job Purpose The Title IX Specialist Investigator reports to the Director of the Title IX Office. This office resides under the Associate Vice President of Equal Opportunity and is responsible for oversight and implementation of Wayne State University’s sexual misconduct policies. This position works closely with the Office of Equal Opportunity, the Office of the General Counsel, the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development, Student Affairs, and other campus partners. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a significant amount of writing and analysis, and an ability to investigate multiple complaints simultaneously in an efficient manner. Essential Functions Performs case management and intake conferences; investigates complaints of sex discrimination and sex-based harassment; ensures accurate and thorough records and notes of all matters from intake through resolution via case management system; corresponds regularly with parties via written and verbal communication and provides periodic, timely status updates; organizes and conducts interviews with complainants, respondents and witnesses and advises all parties of their rights; conducts informal resolution for appropriate cases; gathers and summarizes evidence; makes recommendations concerning remedial steps and resolution of complaints; prepares investigative reports.Provides and coordinates services and supportive measures for complainants and respondents, including assistance with reporting to law enforcement, referrals to counseling and medical services, assistance with academic accommodations, implementation of no-contact orders, etc.Assists with evaluating and responding to pregnancy accommodation requests and compliance efforts. Communicates and coordinates University services with Student Disability Services, faculty, and staff. Addresses accessibility and compliance complaints and recommends corrective actions where necessary.Assists the Title IX Coordinator / Director with development and implementation of Title IX training and education, including the development of training and informational materials; conducts training programs and works with University stakeholders to ensure Title IX policies are communicated to all constituents.Assists the Title IX Coordinator / Director with all internal and external compliance and reporting requirements. Responds to questions and concerns from members of the University community by phone and email, resolves issues and directs calls as appropriate. Advises and serves as a resource for individuals and departments regarding possible complaint and employment matters. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's degree.Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as law, criminal justice, social work, or related field. Experience Intermediate (3 to 4 years job-related experience).Minimum of [3] years of experience conducting investigative work, preferably in a higher education setting, or field relevant to Title IX (3) years of progressively responsible experience in Title IX, equal employment opportunity (EEO), or other non-discrimination-based work demonstrating a clear understanding of Title IX and related compliance issues. Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations and interpreting policy. In-depth knowledge of Title IX regulations, as well as relevant state and federal lawsExperience drafting thorough and well-documented investigation reports. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to interpret federal and state nondiscrimination laws, including Title IX, VAWA, Clery, and other related laws and analytical, writing, and critical thinking skills; ability to problem solve, analyze, summarize, and effectively present data in a sound and supportable manner. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and assess evidence presentation and facilitation skills with emphasis on education and training for a wide audience.Demonstrated organizational, planning, and management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and priorities.Demonstrated experience with and commitment to working effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds in support of an inclusive and welcoming sensitivity to and thorough understanding of the impact of trauma on individuals who have experienced sexual and gender-based harassment and other forms of interpersonal interpersonal skills and the ability to manage change and build consensus while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Excel, Microsoft Word, and Power Point.
