Mechanical Engineer
Allen Consulting, Inc is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our office in Norman, Oklahoma. We provide design and consulting services for a broad range of projects both local and out of state. We are searching for a mechanical design engineer to help keep up with our growing workload. We need full time help.
Job Description :
The successful candidate will take part in the following activities :
Preparation of superior quality mechanical and plumbing construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings in healthcare, educational, office and institutional market sectors
Design Heating ventilation and air conditioning system, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
Perform HVAC load calculations, plumbing calculations, and any other calculations required to support mechanical design
Review mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all building systems
Close coordination with the client and the entire design team, including owners, architects, contractors, members of other disciplines, and internal support staff to ensure the design is consistent with the client's vision, to ensure a fully coordinated interdisciplinary design, and to ensure the design schedule is maintained
Work closely with equipment vendors and manufacturers' representatives for selection and specification of appropriate equipment
Play an active role in project meetings with clients and colleagues
Competent with design software such as AutoCAD and Revit. Word, Excel, and Trane Trace.
Minimum Qualifications :
Have ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering.
No work experience required for this position but any experience is a bonus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills with ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks
Capable of grasping and retaining mechanical design principles and working independently
Desire to work in a fast-paced team environment to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
Willing to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications :
Have Engineer-Intern (EI) license
Have desire to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licenses in Mechanical Engineering
Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
