The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is seeking a full-time Grants Manager, preferably based out of our San Francisco, Texas, or Washington, DC offices. This is an exempt position that reports to the Director of Institutional Giving. It is a hands-on, fast-paced role that will support and contribute to the growth of all aspects of the ILRC's grants and institutional fundraising efforts. The ILRC currently has a hybrid work model requiring two in-office days per week.
The ILRC is a national nonprofit legal support center headquartered in San Francisco with staff in Washington, D.C., Austin, Houston, Laredo, and San Antonio, TX, Southern California, the San Joaquin Valley of California and Washington state. The mission of the ILRC is to work with, educate, and enhance the capacity of immigrants, community organizations, and the legal sector, in order to build a democratic society that values diversity, dignity, and the rights of all people. Founded in 1979, the ILRC is regarded as one of the foremost experts on engaging immigrants and developing their leadership in the democratic process, providing expertise on complex issues of immigration law, procedure and policy, and engaging in advocacy and educational initiatives on policies that affect immigrants. We are a team-based organization that makes most of its decisions in a collaborative fashion that allows for significant staff input.
The Grants Manager will be an integral member of the Grants team and responsible for providing a wide range of grant support to the organization. The role will require collaboration with program and finance teams to manage fundraising activities with institutional funders, including private foundations and government agencies. The Grants Manager will also be responsible for the maintenance of grants and regranting processes and infrastructure. (Job duties may change as the role progresses.)
Primary Goals :
The goals of the position are to :
- Manage approximately 60% of the ILRC's grant portfolio, track grant deliverables, and oversee the regranting of funds made to partner organizations through our Salesforce CRM.
- Write and edit grant proposals and reports in collaboration with program staff. Draft and develop grant project budgets and financial reports in collaboration with the finance team. Provide any additional support to program and finance teams to develop timely and persuasive funding materials, as needed.
- Track current grant cycles and renewal processes. Manage the grants deadline calendar to ensure all funder deadlines are met. Provide support to ensure funder stewardship to encourage continued funding.
- Conduct targeted research to identify new institutional funders and help grow the existing portfolio of funders to ensure we meet fundraising goals.
- Work with the Grants team to maintain records of all funder interactions, including tasks, deadlines, funder communications, and other relevant information, are entered into our Salesforce CRM.
- Help develop and document Grants related processes, and conduct other duties, as assigned.

Compensation / Benefits :
Pay is commensurate with experience, with an expected range between $90,500 - $105,500 annually. The ILRC offers excellent benefits, medical / dental / vision insurance, EAP sessions, a flexible spending account for medical and dependent care, vacation, and sick leave. The ILRC also sponsors a retirement plan option upon fulfillment of eligibility. Additionally, we offer an annual professional development stipend of $2,500, and, from 2024 - 2027, an annual wellness stipend of $2,500.
