Description of Work Unit
CEMML is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at CSU . CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense ( DOD ) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and within CSU to resolve complex environmental issues, leaving a legacy of science-based decisions that sustain our resources for future generations.

Position Summary
A Geographic Information System ( GIS ) Analyst position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands ( CEMML ). The duty location is full time at Joint Base Langley-Eustis; the position also serves Langley AFB , Fort Eustis, Dover AFB , JB Andrews, JB Anacostia-Bolling. This position will require travel, up to a week at a time, to supported Air Force Bases.
The GIS Analyst will be responsible for data development and data maintenance for all environmental GIS data. This includes but is not limited to incorporating data from disparate sources, applying quality control checks, and standardizing data to the SDSFIE . The individual will also be responsible for providing GIS support to the Air Force environmental programs. This includes but is not limited to cartographic support, data requests, and data analysis. This position will engage with Air Force environmental Program Managers and staff at all supported bases on a routine basis. This includes but is not limited to collaborating on projects, providing status updates, and presenting to small groups.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by the proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Work location is dependent on the needs of the partner / project / role. In some instances, positions may require staff to be fully in-person. In other instances, hybrid or remote arrangements may be possible. This position requires the candidate be within commuting distance of Joint Base Langley-Eustis.
