Job Overview
The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing PLC programs to control various industrial processes and machinery. The role involves collaborating with engineers, technicians, and other team members to ensure the efficient and effective operation of manufacturing and production systems. The candidate should have a strong understanding of PLC programming languages and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex automation systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, develop, and implement PLC programs to control industrial machinery and processes.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to understand system requirements and specifications.
- Test and debug PLC programs to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates to existing PLC systems to optimize efficiency.
- Integrate PLC systems with other automation technologies, such as HMI (Human-Machine Interface) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the maintenance and operations teams for PLC-related issues.
- Create and maintain documentation related to PLC programming, including program codes, configurations, and technical specifications.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in PLC technology to recommend and implement improvements to existing systems.
