Position Summary
Serve as an educator in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia
Who We Are
Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFU) is a graduate health sciences university committed to serving the population through the interprofessional education of health and biomedical professionals and the discovery of knowledge dedicated to improving wellness. The university embodies the spirit of inquiry and excellence modeled by its namesake Dr. Rosalind Franklin, whose Photo 51 was crucial to solving the structure of DNA.
Today, the university's 6 colleges continue Dr. Franklin's legacy through rigorous academics, pioneering research, and innovative community service. The doctoral program in clinical psychology at Rosalind Franklin University was established in 1977 and has been accredited by the American Psychological Association since the graduation of its first class in 1983. An accreditation self-study and site visit were completed in 2024. The program plays an integral role in the mission of the College of Health Professions and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, which is to provide excellent training for the next generation of health care professionals. The University emphasizes training in the delivery of interprofessional health care and considers behavioral health to be a critical component of effective health care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
All full-time faculty members employed by RFUMS are expected to engage in activities that are considered core to their primary role as a faculty member. These activities may include teaching, scholarly activity, and service.
Teaching responsibilities include :
- Curriculum management : Serve as the Course Director for Chemistry and Physics in Anesthesia (nurse anesthesia students and non-degree seeking students).
- Direct instruction : Provide face-to-face instruction of nurse anesthesia students in the classroom and / or simulation lab one day per week in the Spring-Summer and Fall quarters.

Scholarly activities :
Service activities :
Scholarly activities and / or clinical activities are negotiated and determined at the department level and are primarily based upon the faculty track.
Conditions of Employment
Required Education & Experience
Doctorate degree, current NBCRNA CRNA certification, current unencumbered license to practice as a CRNA in the United States, active clinical practice as a CRNA
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of nurse anesthesia didactic theory and clinical practice requirements for CRNAs
Preferred Qualifications
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP or DNAP) or PhD
