We currently have an opening for Sr. Engineering Manager / Director. This key position works closely with engineering leadership recognized as critical for business success responsible for leading development / design of analytical products. This role supervises engineering / quality ; prioritizing / organizing workflow / delegating tasks accordingly. This role is based in a major city in the USA. Relocation reimbursement is not available.
Primary Duties :
Lead a team of mechanical / electrical / software / quality engineers developing sensors / analyzers / software applications.
Develop / deploy / monitor R&D goals / objectives / design standards within engineering subgroups focusing on high-quality manufacturing.
Build / manage systems for Engineering Change Management / version control through centralized documentation.
Partner with operations translating assembly drawings / BOMs / build documents / Design Verification Plans into work instructions / assembly / test manuals / procurement plans.
Collaborate with sales / marketing / service developing solutions for product gaps / launch.
Develop / manage internal design reviews / participate in reviews with customers / key stakeholders.
Ensure final product designs are functional / cost-effective meeting customer / industry requirements.
Manage / implement New Product Development / VaVe project valuations working with leadership prioritizing innovation / sustaining projects.
Provide technical expertise on strategic initiatives.
Provide periodic market trend insights / latest technologies reporting to senior management ensuring alignment with company goals.
Promote good communication / engagement / shared objectives among internal / external teams ensuring customer expectations are met.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering required.
Master's degree preferred.
7+ years professional experience designing / developing analytical instrumentation.
3+ years management leadership experience.
Strong knowledge / experience with engineering principles / procedures applying to sensors / systems designs.
Knowledge / in-depth understanding of VaVe / DVP&R / Sustaining engineering / cost-take- out / commonization / modular designs.
In-depth understanding in one or more engineering fields (electrical / software / mechanical).
Familiarity with industry regulations / procedures ensuring safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance. Experience with design and certification for hazardous locations is a plus.
Proficiency in ANSI / ASME and ASTM standards preferred.
Experience with ISO 9001 preferred.
Relevant experience in several / all of the following :
Design for Manufacturing
Sensors and Analyzers
Stage-gate / Phase-gate processes and tools
New Product Development / Introductions (NPD / NPI)
SolidWorks or other PDM systems
Compliance, certification and instrument regulations
Root Cause Analysis Countermeasures
Must be able to take on complex and advanced engineering projects while balancing managerial responsibilities.
Extensive cross functional team (CFT) experience including technical and non-technical work.
Professionalism, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem solving and time management skills, a results-oriented work ethic, and ability to work alone with limited direct supervision.
Customer-oriented, with the ability to represent the company and present engineering ideas and designs to non-technical audiences.
Must have core values, exceptional work ethic and the ability for continuous self-improvement.
Ability to travel 10-20%.
