Job Summary

The Facilities Supervisor supervises staff and provides guidance for the day-to-day operations of the facilities based on established policies and procedures.

Job Duties :

  • Responsible for maintenance and operation of all campuses on the afternoon shift.
  • Supervises and assigns the work of afternoon facilities team members at all Gateway campuses and verifies work is performed as expected.
  • Responsible for performance evaluations, weekly payroll approval, staff leave approvals, and planning of labor coverage to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Manages job orders from faculty and staff through M&O ticketing system for completion by facilities team.
  • Performs or assigns minor maintenance functions such as changing light bulbs / ballasts, minor plumbing / electrical issues, unloading / loading of trucks as needed, assists in the storage and removal of hazardous waste, coordinates fire drills on their designated shift, removes snow from sidewalks as needed.
  • Manages the supplies and equipment parts needed to conduct the work.
  • Trains staff on job requirements, safety procedures, tools, and equipment and performs the duties of staff during their absence from work.
  • Ensures staff and facility users adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Inspects cleanliness of all campuses and collaborates with leadership on recommendations for continuous improvement in maintaining standards of cleanliness, safety, and team cohesiveness and collaboration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by facilities management.

    • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Associate's degree or equivalent and 3-4 years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets the KCTCS insurance standards and must be able to drive cars, vans and pick-up trucks.
  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 1-2 years relevant experience in job family
  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
