Overview
The Director, Event Production role is responsible for bringing U.S. Soccer’s events and brand to life through various forms of storytelling and tactics (concept through execution). This position works within the Events Department as a support role to all other departments within the Federation in providing creative direction and event production experience. The role will perform and oversee all event production related activities at all U.S. Soccer events – Youth and Senior National Team matches, special events such as viewing parties , the Annual General Meeting, National Soccer Hall of Fame Induction, SheBelieves Summit, and the U.S. Open Cup, etc.. Additionally, this position will support on-site events at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Atlanta. This postion offers a unique experience to help establish U.S. Soccer as the preeminent sport in the U.S. from both the brand and events perspectives.
Position Description
- Lead creative thinking and planning to enhance the in-stadium production and fan experience at U.S. Soccer events.
- Create, build, and execute short-term and long-term strategic plans that align with the Commercial Department goals.
- Manage event production expenses and budgets, reconcile all post-event production and event branding invoices.
- Responsible for hiring and leading a production team and fostering a positive, World-Class environment within the team.
- Coordination, integration, and execution of all digital stadium décor, on-field static and LED, and in–stadium digital assets.
- Coordinate and manage vendor orders and contractors including relationships, financial arrangements, and logistics.
- Develop event scripts, run of show, and manage content.
- Lead the control room staff at events including staffing, scheduling, and directing / showcalling the show.
- Collaborate with broadcast partners to ensure accurate execution of event timing, coordinate camera positioning, and coordinate stadium broadcast feeds.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and develop new concepts to incorporate into U.S. Soccer’s event production.
- Assist in creating new in-match sellable and usable assets for partnerships, marketing and ticket sales team to activate.
- Oversee all on-site event production vendors / contractors (i.e. signage vendors, pyrotechnics, military, flags, audio, DJs, anthem singers, hosts, staging, teleprompter services, etc.).
- Oversee any on-field or in-stadium recognitions, partner activations, and award ceremonies.
- Provide other assistance as needed to execute all U.S. Soccer events.
