PRN Delivery  Driver

Evening, Overnight, Weekends

We are looking for an on-call delivery driver to help cover daily routes, stat delveries and any PRN work.

JOB PURPOSE :

  • Delivers items by preparing, loading, unloading, operating, and cleaning a vehicle; developing sales; maintaining records.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must have a High school diploma or GED.
  • WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

  • Some delivery experience.
  • SKILLS, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, AND / OR SPECIAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS :

  • Data Entry skills.

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Prepares vehicle for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tire pressure; obtaining or scheduling required repairs; and validating adherence to road ability standards.
  • Loads vehicles by ordering, placing, and securing items.
  • Delivers items by identifying destinations; operating the vehicle; unloading items; and maintaining the schedule.
  • Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints; and adjusting orders.
  • Maintains vehicle operating efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; and scheduling repairs.
  • Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans vehicle exterior and interior.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
  • Enhances organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • This position is usually exposed to normal indoor and outdoor working conditions.
  • Exposure to certain drugs may cause a potential for harmful effects and some individuals may not handle these drugs or gloves must be worn.
  • A listing of potential hazards is available in the pharmacy’s Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • The ability to sit and stand for extended periods is required.
  • Frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects up to 40 pounds is required.
  • Frequent stooping kneeling, and bending are required.
  • Some climbing is required.
  • Acute Vision.
  • MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Manages stress appropriately.
