In this role you will get to perform a variety of geological and environmental tasks. Willingness to perform field work and to travel to field sites (up to 70% of the time) is a key element of this role. Over time, the position will shift to more office-based work and less field work as your career is propelled forward.

  • Execute field projects with health and safety as the top priority
  • Complete field documentation such as activity hazard analysis (AHA) forms, project field reports, field notes, sampling records, and chain-of-custody forms
  • Assist in geologic and environmental analyses and interpretation, which may include hydrogeology and / or geochemistry
  • Analyze and interpret environmental sample analysis results within the context of the geological setting
  • Prepare figures of environmental data, potentiometric surface maps, geologic maps, and cross sections
  • Develop materials and assist in completing reports on finished field work
  • May provide technical guidance to lower-level geologists or environmental scientists
  • Work with project managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills, to ensure projects are completed on time and budget

Ideally, the candidate for this position shall be located in the Salt Lake City or Denver area.
  • A valid driver’s license, the ability and willingness to travel to and from field locations up to 70% of the time
  • Should be able-bodied as the work requires some physical exertion such as extended periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities
  • Work in adverse weather conditions (e.g., hot, cold, rain, snow)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills
  • Maturity in interaction and ability to operate self-sufficiently in the field or as part of a team
