Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Geologist / Environmental Scientist to join our team! Our team uses the latest technologies and methodologies to perform environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation, delivering a cleaner, safer planet for our customers and future generations. In this role you will get to perform a variety of geological and environmental tasks. Willingness to perform field work and to travel to field sites (up to 70% of the time) is a key element of this role. Over time, the position will shift to more office-based work and less field work as your career is propelled forward.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of standard geological and environmental science principles and theories
- Conduct soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, and other environmental sampling
- Soil classification and sampling during drilling, test pitting, and excavation activities
- Supervise drillers and other subcontractors
- Execute field projects with health and safety as the top priority
- Complete field documentation such as activity hazard analysis (AHA) forms, project field reports, field notes, sampling records, and chain-of-custody forms
- Assist in geologic and environmental analyses and interpretation, which may include hydrogeology and / or geochemistry
- Analyze and interpret environmental sample analysis results within the context of the geological setting
- Prepare figures of environmental data, potentiometric surface maps, geologic maps, and cross sections
- Develop materials and assist in completing reports on finished field work
- May provide technical guidance to lower-level geologists or environmental scientists
- Work with project managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills, to ensure projects are completed on time and budget
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Salary Range :
