We are seeking an Engineering Lab Technician I for a very important client.As a Research Technician, you will have responsibility for supporting scientists by preparing materials and product samples for testing as well as preforming experimentation and testing. In this role, you will perform general laboratory work including handling and processing polymer and other research materials / chemicals, operating processing and testing equipment, supporting sterilization processes and generating / processing data. In addition, you will be responsible for ordering sample materials, supplies and maintaining equipment. This position is in Fridley, MN and requires on-site presence. Position Responsibilities·Perform laboratory work with best practices to support materials and product research and problem solving efforts·Perform benchtop diffusion studies·Conduct sterilization process studies and sample preparation·Maintaining the laboratory equipment and supplies
Requirement :
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications : Basic Qualifications·B.S with 0-1 years experience Degree should be in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering & Biomaterials Science or related areas and experience. Technician experience without a degree is acceptable. ·Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience·High school diploma or equivalent Nice to Have / Desired Qualifications·Associate's degree, or vocational or technical education, or relevant certification·Experience in medical product manufacturing / assembly operations·Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, computer repair and logic)·Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills·‘Hands-on’ experience in a laboratory environment including; oHandling polymer materials, chemicals and test solutionsoPreparing / monitoring test samples, setting up experiments / test equipmentoPolymer processing e.g molding / extrusion / compounding including operating processing and characterization equipmentoOther useful experience might include : §Mechanical testing and methods e.g tensile, hardness, etc.§Thermal and mechanical polymer characterization e.g DSC, DMA, etc.oGenerating, compiling & processing test data (Excel and basic statistics)oPerform lab support activities to maintain lab continuity, for example equipment calibration / maintenance, ordering supplies, hazardous waste disposal, safety equipment (showers), etc. Physical Job requirementThe physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile The employee is also required to interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers.
