Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for an Energy Storage Test Engineer within our Commercial Vehicle Development Team at our Chino, California facility :
Responsibilities :
- Execute charging / refueling tests to assess the performance of software and hardware components at the vehicle level using public or private infrastructure.
- Analyze test data, compare to charging standards and expected performance.
- Perform refueling / recharging infrastructure site performance evaluation (interoperability, communication vehicle-infrastructure, refueling / recharging rates) and site inspections. Monitor and maintain state and nationwide infrastructure performance metrics
- Research infrastructure performance issues root cause, identify and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain testing standards, procedures, and specifications; ensure proper documentation and communication of test results.
- Participate in industry refueling / recharging standard development for commercial vehicles (H70HF, MCS…).
- Research safety standards for compressed gas storage systems and high voltage batteries in field and workshop environments.
- Collaborate with universities, national labs, and external research bodies on advanced technology projects, including hydrogen refueling infrastructure and hydrogen storage systems.
- Write reports and present to company leadership about energy storage systems and refueling infrastructure technical roadmaps, including analysis approach, test results, from internal and external sources.
