Job descriptionInspect, assemble, install, and repair all electrical AC and DC circuits, instrumentation, switchgear, motors, and other electrical equipment throughout the plant. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks as prescribed by Plant Supervision. Aid Plant Mechanics and Operations personnel in resolving day-to-day equipment problems. Reads, comprehends and capable of understanding basic electrical prints and mark up for electrical installations. Has the ability to safely use basic hand tools and equipment. Keeps up to date on all requirements of national electrical codes, OSHA, NFPA 70E and company rules and complies with them. Works on and sometimes supervises others including contractors for installation, operations, inspection, maintenance, testing, and location of trouble on all types of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical equipment. Self-motivated to work from electrical diagrams, manuals, personal knowledge, and other materials in troubleshooting and making proper electrical installations. Performs voltmeter, ammeter, megohmmeter and use of various electrical test equipment. Knowledge and understanding of control systems and PLC and VFD’s. Should be capable of using a computer and computer-based maintenance programs. Adhere to all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies. High school diploma or GED Ability to stand, walk, and use tools continuously as well as frequently reach, climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs. Troubleshooting experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), AC / DC drives and basic instrumentation (temperature, level, pressure). Working knowledge of basic electrical equipment. Ability to tolerate working from heights and elevated temperatures. Good hearing, vision (color), speaking, and finger dexterity skills. Basic Computer skills and the ability to understand technical prints, charts, and diagrams. Working Knowledge of SAP or other Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Ability to pass a drug screening and background check. Knowledge of SAP

Compensation
Starting Pay is $31.99 / h r + $0.70 shift differential for (11pm - 7a m ) + Call in Pay + OT opportunities

Johns Manville is hiring Industrial Electrician(s) at our Rockdale, IL site (Near Joliet). We are searching for individuals who are dependable, responsible and quality-minded who have a history of working safely in a manufacturing environment. We need an experienced, motivated individual who possesses both a strong electrical and mechanical background within a manufacturing environment.
The Rockdale, IL location manufacturers fiber base coverboards primarily for commercial flat roofs. The facility also houses the Johns Manville Roofing Division Midwest Distribution Center.
