Description
Mazak Corporation is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Sales Engineering team. This position requires the Electrical Engineer to be capable of creating / supporting / integrating electrical machine options through the development of PLC programming modifications, cable assembly and electrical component drawings. Duties are not limited to day-to-day support for all technical issues related to sales and customer specific projects. Scope and Responsibilities : Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following :
- Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Support preorder clarification of customer option requirements.
- Design and detailing of electrical schematics as required for multiple machine projects.
- Tasks include the design and detailing of : System components layout, specification of electrical components, cable routing and PLC modification
- Design administrative duties include : Attendance at project design reviews, prepare necessary documentation including electrical Bill of Materials, electrical drawings, operation manuals and final electrical drawing file control.
- Work within electrical design project budgets.
- Work as a member of a project team to complete project goals.
- Assume the lead design engineer role on assigned project goals.
- Maintain and track personal workload.
- Additional tasks and special projects as assigned. Education / Certification :
- Associate degree in electrical or related engineering discipline is required.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant experience is preferred. Skills :
- Three (3) years' experience within a related field.
- Working knowledge of the machining CNC industry.
- Knowledge of electrical designs and design techniques in accordance with NFPA 70, UL, CE standards.
- Computer literate with knowledge of computer aided design software techniques. (MS Office, 2D CAD techniques - AutoCAD preferred).
- Willingness to travel 10 - 15% of the time.
- Familiarization with industrial networking protocols such as Ethernet IP, Profibus, CC-Link.
- Experience with various programming languages such as C++, C#, Visual Basic, Python is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge in Mitsubishi PLC programming is highly desirable.
- Knowledge in designing circuits using 24VDC up to 480VDC.
