Position Summary
Career Interest : The Parent Education Instructor teaches Childbirth Preparation classes in multiple formats. Parent education classes include Breastfeeding, Infant Care, Sibling Preparation, and many others.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Provides high quality health education to family members prior to and / or following the birth of a new baby, as evidenced by satisfactory participant evaluations and comments.
- Emphasizes family centered care based on the philosophy that the physical, social, cultural, psychological, spiritual, and economic needs of the total family unit are integrated and considered collectively.
- Submits sign-in sheets, participant evaluations, and other program paperwork as directed.
- Utilizes approved participant handouts, teaching tools, and other resources as directed.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
