Overview
The Pennsylvania Avenue Black Arts and Entertainment District is the fourth and newest arts and entertainment district in Baltimore. It is the only district in the state of Maryland that uniquely supports, celebrates and promotes Black creatives and Black cultural production.
Mission
The Black Arts District through an anti-displacement framework empowers Black creatives and continues the community-based revitalization efforts in West Baltimore through culture, arts, and entertainment.

Job Brief :
We are looking to hire a Operations Director highly organized, punctual, astute and capable of creative new systems and protocols for a small nonprofit. The ideal candidate will have unique skills and experience that will aid them in serving as Operations Director for the organization which will require extensive strategizing, intentional communication, elevated interpersonal skills and sufficient problem solving. The Operations Director will ultimately be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization by overseeing the administrative, finance and communications staff, developing and implementing operational procedures and systems, as well as managing budgets and financial reports.
Responsibilities :
- Manage administrative assistant
- Manage office operations including filing, inventory, cleaning, equipment, etc.
- Support volunteer management
- Manage Marketing and Communications Manager and ensure all marketing goals and objectives are met to support the organization’s communications strategies.
- Approving newsletter, copy and other marketing and communication collateral
- Spearheading the budgeting process for the organization
- Managing CFO Firm
- ensuring that the CFO firm delivers timely and accurate monthly financial statements for the board of directors
- Supporting monthly reconciliations, budget management, contract generation, invoicing, bill payments, Accounts payable and receivable, etc.
- Supporting the drafting reports, memos, and presentations
- Supporting day to day HR related activities
- liaison with the IT provider to ensure IT support when required.
- Supporting ED in fundraising strategy and implementation.
- Leading annual audit
