Job Summary :
This position is an administrative role that serves as the leader of Nursing and related programs. The Nursing Director is responsible for all aspects of leading and managing Nursing and related programs, as well as in alignment with the college mission and vision. The Director promotes a positive teaching, working and learning environment, as well as responding to student's educational needs for degree completion. The Director is also responsible to work with local, state and federal organizations, agencies and leaders to support college and department initiatives, develop partnerships, ensure programs respond to regional workforce needs, and advance student opportunities leading to job attainment and career success. This includes (but is not limited to) oversight of finances, budget and grants; accreditation; enrollment and completion; curriculum and instruction; course offerings and scheduling; clinical / field experiences, contracts and supervision; faculty and staff recruitment, development, evaluation and retention; equipment acquisition and maintenance; and all aspects of program management.
Qualifications / Requirements :
- Masters degree required, Doctoral Degree in Nursing / related field preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse state license in Nevada.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- 3 years of experience teaching in an accredited program of nursing.
- Experience in academic and professional administration and / or leadership.
- 2 years of experience in budget management.
- 1 year of experience developing complex schedules, preferably in an educational setting.
- Bilingual with Spanish preferred, not required.
