Pet Food Express is seeking a Part-time Merchandising Database Support Specialist, who will assist the merchandising team by ensuring that every single product detail in our databases is spot-on, especially when it comes to pricing! From the time we introduce an item until we retire that item, we will rely on you to keep every item within our internal databases updated with accurate pricing. Your superpower? A serious eye for detail and the ability to communicate like a pro. You’ll work alongside all-star teams, collaborating with departments like Category Management, Purchasing, Replenishment, Distribution Center, and Accounting to make sure all data flows seamlessly. You’ll also be regularly connecting with vendors and team members, keeping them in the loop about important product and vendor changes. Responsibilities : Work with Category Managers to maintain accurate item pricing, and process price changes Monitor online pricing compliance and data integrity Translate vendor information to our inventory database and validate all data prior to entry Resolve price discrepancies by working with vendors and cross department teams Pull and compile data from multiple sources with a heavy emphasis on Excel to provide reporting to internal and external partners Audit the creation and maintenance of items in our inventory databases as needed Report new item info to the Replenishment and team to assure efficient ordering and receiving flow as needed Efficiently resolve or escalate active and potential problems to keep products and projects flowing through the supply chain Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with predefined business rules and logic Intimately understand the items we carry; how they are packed, shipped, displayed, and sold Expertly answer cross departmental questions Identify and anticipate bottlenecks in the supply chain and work to resolve and prevent them from happening Support Merchandising Operations department with ancillary tasks as needed Qualifications : Clear and effective communication skills; able to deliver accurate, clear and concise messages verbally and in writing; listens actively and comprehends information and directions. Strong problem solving skills and analytical thinking; able to recognize patterns and trends as well as variations in data Ability to master and operate various database programs, and quickly learn and use new software applications and technology Effective relationship and teambuilding skills; able to establish and maintain cooperative, mutually respectful working relationships at all levels and to effectively report to upper management. Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment; able to anticipate and balance the needs and input of multiple stakeholders and make informed decisions and with tact and professionalism. Able to remain calm and focused during pressure situations, operate with a sense of urgency and escalate issues beyond your experience.

Experience with managing a team is a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business communication tools (Teams, Zoom, Slack), and Outlook required High Proficiency with Excel; Ability to pull and compile data from multiple sources with a heavy emphasis on Excel to provide reporting to internal and external partners Strong technical ability to quickly learn and work new software applications and technology Ability to master and operate various database programs; Ability to quickly recognize outliers in large sets of data and determine if action is required 2-4 Years experience in pricing, merchandising, and / or complex data entry Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, marketing or related field of study preferred Project Management ceritficaiton or equivalent experience strongly preferred This is a hybrid role requiring weekly on-site work from our Concord, CA headquarters ; those unable to meet the hybrid work or travel requirements will not be considered.
