The Lead for Women’s Heart Disease Education and Awareness – Community Capacity Building will be responsible for serving as a liaison to both national and regional / market-level teams to maximize collaboration and outcomes. The lead will ensure synergy across departments on new, emerging, and established work focused on Women’s Heart Health and Heart Valve disease. The lead will be responsible for developing, disseminating, and supporting market level community engagement strategies. The lead will be responsible for ensuring collaboration across national, regional, and local teams while ensuring deliverables of the grant are met.

The location of the selected candidate is flexible and remote .

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, grant-funded opportunity, current funding is through 6 / 30 / 2025.

Expected pay range will be $100,00 to $110,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with national, regional, and market leadership to Identify and partner with CBO(s) in 3 or more communities and / or geographic region(s) to support women’s heart disease and Heart Valve Disease community education and awareness engagement efforts.

Collaborate with National, Regional, and Markets leads as well as CDC leads to assess community and CBO education, training and resource needs related to understanding women’s heart disease and conditions including Heart Valve Disease signs and symptoms, screening and monitoring.

Collaborate with national and local teams to develop community engagement plan(s) and provide TA on implementation through participating CBOs.

Ensure national and community accountability to grant reporting deliverables including supporting appropriate time and activity tracking.

Support grant evaluation by serving as liaison between community teams and evaluation team and ensuring appropriate tracking and reporting is conducted and communicated as required for the evaluation.

Oversee budget and ensure funds are spent in accordance with the grant expectations.

Organize and communicate with national cross-departmental grant team to maximize collaboration and efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Education, or equivalent work experience

Three (3) to five (5) years of the following experience :

Strong communication and leadership skills and demonstrated experience in team management, coalition building

Demonstrable consulting experience, especially to staff over which there is no reporting relationship

Demonstrated ability to productively participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment working towards common goals.

Ability to sell strategies, projects and ideas to internal audiences and help colleagues develop and achieve outcomes goals

Demonstrated ability to promote systemic public health impact and work collaboratively with community organizations.

Preferred :

Three (3) years of the following experience :

Experience participating in an integrated strategic planning process involving multi-facetted business units and other functionally-aligned consultants.

Ability to strategically guide and put into practice nationally developed programs in a collaborative business environment

Knowledge and / or experience in volunteer and mission-driven health organizations, preferably non-profit.

Knowledge and / or experience with Community Health Worker training or other health practitioner training and certification programs.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected pay range will be $100,00 to $110,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
