Job Summary :
As an Entry-Level Production Machinist, you will operate CNC machines, manual lathes, mills, and other machinery to produce high-precision parts and components for a variety of industries. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in machining and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate CNC machines, manual lathes, mills, and other production equipment to fabricate parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Set up machines, load materials, and adjust settings for optimal performance.
- Inspect finished parts using basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to ensure they meet required tolerances and quality standards.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving minor machine malfunctions.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure machines are functioning properly.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve efficiency and production processes.
- Document production activities and maintain accurate records.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent and safe production.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational education a plus).
Basic understanding of machining principles (e.g., understanding blueprints, tolerances).
Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning about machine operation and maintenance.
Ability to use basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
Willingness to work in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Previous manufacturing or machining experience (internships, apprenticeships, or related coursework) is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Comfortable working with hand tools, machinery, and power tools.
