Distribution DesignerPOWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Designer for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in Denver, Colorado.Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and operation of utility electrical systems which they can apply their knowledge for developing new designsCompilation of design packages for constructionPerform quality reviews of project deliverablesOccasional fielding / field data collectionRequired Education / ExperienceGeneral experience in the design, operation, construction, and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV) and / or strong familiarity with construction processesExposure to utility standards, NESC, and an understanding of construction techniquesMust have strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skillsMust be able to successfully pass client's background screening processMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordSome travel expectedDesired Education / ExperienceA two-year technical certificate or degree is preferred but not requiredPrior utility design experience or distribution line work is highly preferredExposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, etc.Strong computer design skills, the ability to learn new software packages efficiently, and retain and apply on the job trainingGeneral construction knowledge and aptitudeAbility to work in design teams and take the initiative to learn the tradeSelf-motivated to perform assigned tasksFamiliarity with Automated Utility Design™ (AUD), Autodesk AutoCAD, Maximo work management system is a plusAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
