About the Role
The institute is looking for a dynamic leader to serve as an Associate Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape the information security, privacy, and identity management landscape within a prominent educational institution. As a member of the executive leadership team, you will drive security initiatives focused on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The CISO will develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, leading a dedicated team of 50 security professionals while managing a substantial budget. You will oversee a comprehensive risk management program, establish robust security and privacy policies, and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree and industry certifications being highly preferred. A strong background of at least 10 years in information security leadership, including a minimum of 5 years in senior roles, is essential. A proven history in security strategy, security operations, and organizational leadership is required, along with experience in navigating complex, decentralized organizations.
Extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, including FERPA, HIPAA, and GDPR, is vital. We seek a leader with exceptional team-building qualities, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse leaders across the institution. The CISO will embody the company's values and foster a culture of security and industry best practices throughout the organization.
