Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) assumes a strategic role in the overall management of the company’s facilities and operations. The CEO will provide leadership, management, and an overall vision necessary to ensure proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, staffing, and other systems are in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.
This position requires attention to detail, a drive for results, and the ability to lead and influence in the regulated and compliance-focused cannabis industry. You will work closely with the board of directors and the executive team, including the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as well as other key stakeholders, to drive growth, ensure financial stability, and advance our mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Shape the company’s strategic direction, aligning goals with the Board’s vision.
- Report to the Board of Directors regularly on key information including the financial health of the organization and provide additional reporting as required to keep the Board appropriately informed of any significant change in financial or operational status.
- In collaboration with the CFO, monitor the company’s day-to-day accounting, cash flow, budgets, and internal controls.
- Directs the ongoing operations of all divisions and departments and fosters open communication, collaboration and cooperation among divisions and departments to create a spirit of unity within the company.
- Build and lead a high-performance team by providing clear leadership, direction, and support to employees, ensuring they have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
- Analyze and address financial, operational, or strategic challenges and develop / implement plans to restore profitability and stability by restructuring operations, cutting costs, and making necessary strategic changes.
- Set clear and ambitious team Objective & Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in relation to key success drivers and take swift and decisive action in case of underperformance.
- Build robust relationships with customers, investors, and the Board to drive sustained growth.
- Monitor market trends and risks, leveraging insights for informed decision-making.
- Establish cost-cutting measures to utilize company resources efficiently and initiate / implement new ideas for better efficiencies and growth.
- Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated.
- Create a positive company culture through strong inspirational leadership.
- Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
