Job Summary :

Gig Harbor Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and experienced  Dietary Manager  to oversee the daily operations of our dietary department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating nutritional services for our residents while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. As a key member of our healthcare team, the Dietary Manager will also ensure that residents receive well-balanced, nutritious, and appetizing meals that meet their dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee the preparation and service of meals for residents, ensuring that dietary needs are met according to individual care plans.
• Develop, implement, and maintain menus that comply with nutritional standards and dietary restrictions (e.g., diabetic, low sodium, gluten-free, etc.).
• Supervise, train, and evaluate dietary staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and customer service.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met, including proper handling, storage, and cleaning protocols.
• Work closely with the dietary team to implement and monitor procedures for portion control, food presentation, and waste reduction.
• Collaborate with the facility’s interdisciplinary care team, including physicians, nurses, and dietitians, to ensure optimal nutrition for residents.
• Maintain accurate records related to food inventory, ordering, and purchasing supplies.
• Perform regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and food safety guidelines.
• Handle resident dietary concerns and special requests with professionalism and care.
• Ensure compliance with ServSafe and dietary certification requirements.
