Buying Assistant

Do you have a purchasing or buying background? Look no further! LHH is recruiting for a Buying Assistant for a client located in North Kansas City, MO that will help support the supplier / purchasing team. This will be a 9-12 month long project starting on-site but with the opportunity to work hybrid after 3 months of training. Pay for this role starts at $20 / hour and goes up based on experience. Our ideal candidate will have a strong administrative background ideally with some purchasing or logistics experience including handling purchase orders or invoices. Duties include :

Data analytics on various purchasing and supplier data

Utilize purchasing software to record price changes and item setups

Work closely with category management on strategy execution

Maintain and develop customer and vendor relationships

Facilitate relationships with replenishment buyers

Ability to deal with challenging workload and schedules

Expedite suppliers to deliver critical and overdue purchase orders

Work closely with the pricing and data teams to achieve branch goals

Qualifications :

High School degree required.

2+ years of administrative experience

Experience with purchasing, sourcing or logistics is ideal

Intermediate excel skills including creating pivot tables and v-lookups

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers

Service focused / minded

Team mentality

Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task

Sense of urgency

Eager to learn
