Job Title : Business Analyst Requirements
Location : Dallas, TX
Position Summary :
This position acts as liaison between IT department and business units within the organization, working to elicit and define system requirements and turn them into technical specifications. The position uses strong analytical skills to help business users solve system and technology issues. Helps facilitate the interaction between IT development / BA staff and the various business units across the organization.
Responsibilities :
Collaborate with non-technical users to determine their technical and system requirements.
Liaison with non-technical personnel to help them define the scope of their system requirements.
Assist non-technical personnel with finding technology-based solutions to their business needs.
Translate non-technical business requirements into technical requirements.
Create and modify the business rules utilized by our core systems.
Use data and process modeling tools to develop and maintain process workflows.
Evaluate business processes for efficiency & Data governance compliance.
Consult with business users to provide advice on efficient business process management.
Provide project management oversight for short and long-term IT projects, at the direction of IT management.
Assist software developers with requirements gathering and scope definition for short and long-term projects.
Provide a comprehensive, independent evaluation of existing efforts.
Support requirements elicitation, validation, and documentation.
Coordinates open user stories / work items.
Assist with implementation support and outcome documentation including but not limited to process and workflows, traceability matrices, security registers.
Triage production issues and work with the development team and end users to successfully resolve the issue.
Attend sessions with stakeholders to identify the business and system requirements, create and submit any required documentation.
Gain an in-depth understanding of Mortgage business and business requirements.
Be knowledgeable of, adhere to and contribute to established digital / web accessibility regulations and business standards.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in computer science / Information Technology or related field.
Seven or more years of related experience in a corresponding field, preferably in finance or mortgage industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using SQL language.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to execute work independently and self-lead.
Strong business acumen and thorough understanding of business fundamentals.
Strong verbal and written communicator with the ability to build relationships across the organization.
Understanding of IT concepts and methodologies.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like Snowflake, Azure and GCP.
Hands-on technical expertise in backend technologies like MSSQL Server & Oracle.
Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
Understanding of ETL like SSIS, DataStage & Talend.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in the Mortgage or Finance industry.
- Proficiency with SQL & NoSQL databases.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
