The role of the Senior Scientist will be to contribute to project management and technical expertise in the general field of natural resources, NEPA documentation, New Mexico State Land Office documentation, and USACE permitting, site assessments, and related services.Duties and Responsibilities : Manage project assignments of varying complexity and size.Provide technical services and oversight as required by the project.Interact with clients, regulatory agencies and sub-consultants to achieve project objectives.Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors.Mentor technical staff to assist in training and development.Identify new business opportunities for the firm.Requirements : B.S. or M.S. in a field of Science, including Environmental Science, Wildlife Management, Forestry, or related field, commensurate with hiring discipline. This level may be achieved by Scientists with minimum five years experience since Bachelor's degree or four years experience with Master's degree; ideal candidate has 6-7 years' experience.Section 404 and multi-agency permitting.NEPA assessments and reporting.New Mexico State Land Office biological report preparation.Threatened and endangered species compliance.Ability to conduct physical field assessments under extreme weather conditions in a variety of habitat types.Oil and Gas and / or municipality work experience.Marketing and business development.
