Schedule - 3 / 8 : 4 hours for set-up; 3 / 9 : 10 hours for full-day production; 3 / 10 : 4-5 hours for morning production, strike, pack-up / ship gear

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Camera / Video Producer to support our production team on location during shoots. In this role, you will assist with camera operations, manage B Cam and on-set audio capture, and ensure the smooth execution of all technical and logistical aspects of the production. The ideal candidate is passionate about visual storytelling and possesses a strong understanding of video production processes.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Director of Photography and production team in the setup, operation, and maintenance of camera equipment, including operating the B Cam during shoots.

Record high-quality sound for video productions, ensuring clarity and consistency.

Set up and operate audio recording equipment, including microphones, mixers, and recording devices, to capture optimal audio.

Conduct sound checks and actively monitor audio levels during filming to maintain superior sound quality.

Identify and troubleshoot audio issues, making necessary adjustments to address environmental challenges such as wind or background noise.

Manage and maintain audio equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition and ready for use.

Accurately log and label audio recordings for seamless post-production use.

Assist with the setup and adjustment of lighting to achieve desired visual effects.

Ensure the application and capture of the shot list and storyboard as provided.

Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues with camera and lighting equipment promptly.

Oversee production equipment during shoots to ensure smooth operation.

Assist the Director of Photography and Producer with equipment packing and shipping post-shoot.

Ensure compliance with safety and production protocols on set to maintain a secure working environment.

Proficiency in using industry-standard camera equipment and basic editing software.

Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and camera operation to achieve high-quality visual content.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, ensuring efficient workflow management.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Ability to thrive under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.

Remarks :

Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, Visual Arts, or equivalent experience.

2+ years of experience in video production, with a focus on on-location field production or a related role;

Experience in news, documentary filmmaking, and corporate settings is preferred.
