Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA designation (or in progress) preferred. 7-10+ years of finance / accounting experience, with strong preference in the mining industry. Need a take charge leader who can hit the ground running. Strong IFRS, US GAAP, and financial reporting knowledge. Excellent analytical, communication, with strong leadership skills. Must have strong MS Office skills and financial systems applications, expert in Excel. MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
Brunel is currently searching for a Controller for direct hire with our mining client located in Kern County, California . Approximately 20 minutes outside of LA County.
Reporting to the Mine Finance Manager, as Controller you will have 3 direct reports on the Finance team consisting of Accountants and Coordinator. This role collaborates with the Finance Manager and corporate team to drive financial performance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and ensure accurate reporting.
- Manage financial controls, audits, and compliance.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Lead the mine site finance team and month-end close.
- Analyze financial performance and drive process improvements.
- Support ERP implementation and other financial projects.
- This role is hands on.
Qualifications & Skills
Offer :
Full-time, direct hire with salary range $130-140K plus 15% bonus. Position includes bonus, 5% 401K match, full-benefits and potential relocation package. This role will be required to work on-site at the mine and is generally a compressed work week of four 10-hour days. Flexible for more hours during month-end, quarterly and year-end close.
