As the Art Design Manager for our Play Apparel line, you'll be at the forefront of our creative process, transforming innovative ideas into compelling fashion collections that resonate with children and parents alike. This role will oversee the end-to-end print design process, including market trend research, print innovation planning, cross-functional collaboration, product approvals, and alignment with our collections. Your expertise will guide the print design and product development process from concept to pre-production. You will manage the product approvals for all Play prints and artworks and work closely with our Product Development team to ensure designs meet the highest standards of quality.
What you’ll do :
Proactively stay up-to-date with market trends & partner with the VP of Design and Design team on seasonal concept, print, and color direction.
Design original artwork and colorways of existing designs.
Manage the artwork creation process, collaborating with the Design, independent artists and merchandising teams to deliver designs that meet seasonal strategies and assortment needs.
Work together with the Apparel Design Manager to create emotive mix-and-match collections to surprise and delight our customers.
Partner with Product Development and Production teams to provide approvals and feedback on artwork and product samples, ensuring alignment with design intent and quality standards while adhering to production calendar deadlines.
Responsible for the creation and accuracy of all Play print millsheets for vendors and data management of artwork in our PDM system.
Review and oversee all Sleep / Play crossover prints in partnership with Sr. Art Manager.
Present print assortments in Seasonal Product Meetings.
Streamline the design process to enhance efficiency, quality, and creativity, from concept ideation to final product approval.
Support the copyright process for all commissioned and purchased designs.
What you’ll bring to the team :
A passion for children’s product design with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant experience.
8+ years of experience in Design / Illustration, with at least 3 years of Children’s Apparel experience required.
Proven leadership in managing creative workflow and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong technical skills in print design and working knowledge in manufacturing textiles for apparel.
Deep understanding of color theory and highly developed taste level.
Detail-oriented with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop), Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
A “no task is too small” attitude willing to jump in as needed to support the team with day-to-day creative.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
