Responsibilities Are you an experienced therapist, passionate about providing recreational, music, or activity services to patients in a behavioral health setting? Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral is looking for you! We are currently recruiting for Activity Therapists to fill our PRN positions. Position Summary The Activity Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic activity services to adult and adolescent patients under the hospital's care for emotional or substance abuse problems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Providing clinically appropriate recreational therapy to the hospital patients Proper documentation of group activities Promoting a safe and therapeutic environment Available Schedules Varied Qualifications Education : Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (i.e., Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, etc) preferred. Certification or registration preferred. Experience : One year of inpatient psychiatric experience preferred Licensure / Certification : BLS and CPI required Other : Assessment, evaluation, and interpretation skills; knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment; flexibility; time management and organization skills; teaching or training skills helpful; understanding of, or ability to understand DSM-5 methodology; able to meet deadlines. HIPAA : Has access to and adds information to the Medical Record. May only access medical record of assigned patients.
