We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manage r to join our client’s team in Richmond, CA. This role is essential to the client’s upcoming ERP transformation, with a key focus on managing the accounting operations both during and after the transition. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with month-end and year-end close processes, payroll management and auditing, and will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities
Key Responsibilities :
Direct the monthly financial close activities utilizing the existing ERP system (AS 400) and manage the upcoming transition to NetSuite.
Oversee the accounting team post-ERP implementation, focusing on optimizing processes and driving strategic improvements.
Supervise one direct report and work closely with the credit and purchasing teams to ensure alignment and accuracy.
Ensure precise payroll processing and audits, with a preference for experience in ADP or Paycom.
Develop and implement industry best practices, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency, compliance, and accuracy within the finance department.
Manage core accounting functions including monthly and annual general ledger closings, sales tax reporting, bank reconciliations, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, contract management, payroll reviews, purchasing, and revenue reconciliations.
Prepare and present consolidated financial reports (balance sheets, profit and loss statements, etc.) to leadership, providing critical insights into the company’s financial health and guiding strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with auditors and CPA firms to ensure timely tax filings at federal, state, and local levels, as well as manage compliance activities to meet all regulatory requirements.
Oversee the Accounts Payable department by managing vendor payment schedules, negotiating favorable payment terms, and fostering strong vendor relationships to optimize cash flow and operational efficiency.
Promote employee development by setting clear performance goals, offering ongoing training, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a supportive, high-performance culture.
Requirements :
Extensive hands-on experience with month-end and year-end close processes and manual bank reconciliations (this will not be an automated process).
Proficiency with ERP systems and implementations (experience with AS 400 and NetSuite is preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Proven ability to plan, organize, and execute projects that drive process improvements in alignment with business objectives.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently under pressure.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate across departments.
