Cost Accounting Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cost Accounting Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for overseeing the analysis of inventory costs, performing margin analysis, and identifying process improvements. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with expertise in cost accounting and a knack for designing and monitoring cost-effective data systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Apply and implement cost accounting methods tailored to the company’s needs.

Develop and maintain data systems for cost accounting and inventory management.

Analyze landed costs and understand the impact of freight and tariffs on inventory.

Review job orders for accuracy and resolve inventory quantity and cost issues.

Investigate and correct inventory variances

Monitor and report on unit cost variances and inventory valuations.

Validate the cost of goods sold

Reclassify inventory between item numbers and maintain accurate records.

Coordinate and manage physical inventory counts and cycle counts, resolving any variances.

Prepare and report on inventory transactions, including margins by product line and location.

Reconcile inventory-related accounts and maintain inventory lead sheets.

Record and process all inventory-related journal entries.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and footnotes.

Provide reports and schedules for bank reporting and external auditors.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

2-5 years of experience in cost accounting, with a focus on inventory management.

Strong understanding of cost accounting methods and general ledger processes.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems.

Ability to analyze data, identify variances, and resolve issues effectively.

Pay Details : $100,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
