Physician – Consult / Liaison Psychiatrist

Job Duties Outlined :

• Work directly with the Director of the Division.
• Provide direct patient care within the Consult and Liaison service area, particularly in the inpatient hospital setting.
• Maintain a clinical practice in outpatient clinics and / or outreach sites, offering a full range of therapeutic interventions, including diagnostic assessments, medication evaluation and management, crisis intervention, and comprehensive care for patients with psychiatric disorders.
• Foster collaboration within the department, ensuring continuity of patient care and follow-up.
• Participate in supervision and teaching within the psychiatric residency program, as well as mentoring psychology trainees and students through didactic lectures and clinical training.
• Involvement in clinical and administrative on-call duties, weekend call coverage, continuous performance improvement initiatives, and participation in Medical School and Department committees as needed.

Required Qualifications :

Education :

M.D., D.O. or equivalent

Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency program

License / Certification :

ABPN board certification / board eligibility in General Psychiatry

Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri

Work Experience :

1 - 3 years of work experience in an academic medical center and providing inpatient psychiatry services

ABPN board certification / board eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient experience
