FST in search of a senior level Structural / Certified Welding Engineer for an exciting long-term opportunity in Austin, TX! This position comes with excellent pay, benefits and an opportunity to work for one of Austin’s premier companies. Local candidates with strong manufacturing engineering and welding backgrounds are ideal, but we are open to discussing the opportunity for travelers as well.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES :

Develop / document a procedure, in compliance with requirements, derived from :

• AWS (American Welding Society) D1.1 : Structural Welding Code Steel
• ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) B31.3 : Process Piping Standard

Develop / document PQR and WPS for structural steel and pipe under AWS D1.1 & ASME B31.3 1.3

Develop / document welding inspection / testing procedures under AWS D1.1 & ASME B31.3. 1.4

Provide a detailed Implementation Plan to successfully execute the scope of work

Support fabrication team in developing weld procedures / specifications in compliance with AWS D1.1 & ASME B31.3

Support in developing PQR’s and WPS’s under each code / standard as applicable for each welding application and material :

Support in the creation of welding inspection / testing procedures along with the appropriate documentation to stay in compliance with the applicable code / standard. To include : material tracking, filler metal specification tracking, etc. tied to the welding.
