This individual will be responsible for successfully managing client relationships in conjunction with training and mentoring a team of engineers, technicians and interns.

Expresses a good understanding of the industry standards of the Alabama Department of Transportation and Federal Highway AdministrationExperience with the Alabama Department of Transportation is a plusCapable of managing multiple projects while maintaining quality control and assurance measures per GMC's standards and requirementsTraveling as dictated by projects, clients and company functions. Responsible for financial goals, marketing plan and project / client developmentResponsible for all aspects of project management- development, design, bidding and constructionResponsible for enforcement of project delivery standards including technical and proceduralDevelops, approves, and conducts professional training as requestedMinimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in civil engineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) registration in Alabama is requiredMinimum of 10 years of experience in roadway engineeringExperience in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Experience with MicroStation Design platforms particularly Open RoadsAbility to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbalAbility to prepare and maintain records, prepare reports, documents and correspondence related to the workAbility to work in a team environment and manage a teamValid driver's license as occasional travel is required, often driving to project sites located outdoorsStrong knowledge of Alabama Department of Transportation guidelines, specifications, drawings and organizational structureStrong knowledge of roadway design guidelines such as the "Green Book", MUTCD and other FHWA publicationsAttention to detail and aptitude to make design decisions
