Adecco Healthcare & LifeSciences is currently looking to hire a Radiation Therapy for their client in Austin ,TX location .

Job Type - Direct Hire

Shift Hours - 8am to 5pm (M-F)

Pay - 90K to 100K (1,000 sign in bonus )

Job Title : Radiation Therapist

Position Summary :

This position is responsible for administering radiation treatment to patients under the direction of a radiation oncologist. The Radiation Therapist will play a key role in ensuring that treatments are delivered accurately and safely, while also providing compassionate care to patients.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

Prepares treatment room and equipment.

Positions patients and adjusts the linear accelerator to concentrate radiation exposure on tumor cells according to treatment plans developed with radiation oncologist. Explains the procedure to the patient.

Delivers accurately prescribed radiation therapy and monitors patient’s physical condition during treatment to detect any adverse side effects.

Documents all relevant information in medical records, including radiation dose, total radiation used to date, area treated, and patient reactions.

Performs daily linear accelerator warm-up procedures. Checks photon and electron beams for consistency and ensures physics components are aligned accurately.

Follows radiation safety protocols in a competent manner.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Role Qualifications (Experience, Education, and Skills) :

Current licensure as required by state (Texas) and board eligibility in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Maintain ARRT certification in radiation therapy with a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education.

Successful completion of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program (preferred) in radiation therapy or a radiography program, plus a 12-month certificate program in radiation therapy.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Current BLS / CPR Certification.

Minimum two years of experience as a staff radiation therapist in a radiation center, preferably in a clinic setting.

Computer literate.

Performance Requirements :

Knowledge of radiation therapy theory and applications, Knowledge of radiation safety protocols, Knowledge of dosimetry and treatment planning.

Skills & Abilities :

Effective performance of radiation procedures, particularly safety procedures.

Identifying and reporting errors or unsatisfactory set-up situations to radiation oncologist.

Time management skills.

Ability to observe, manage, and provide emotional support to patients while maintaining a positive attitude.

Ability to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.

Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and agility required for equipment use.

Ability to assist with the Quality Assurance of machines and equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

Physical Demands : Considerable standing (4 to 6 hours per day), walking, sitting, and stooping. May be required to help transfer patients and lift / carry equipment weighing 75+ pounds. Stress may arise from the need for accuracy and patient safety, especially when dealing with anxious patients.

Work Environment : Medical offices and exam rooms. Clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated. Exposure to communicable diseases may occur.

Pay Details : $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
