Math Ability : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer skill : To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of word processing software. Health Care Benefits which include AFLAC Voluntary life insurance benefits Paid Time Off Sick days begin accruing the first of the month after one full calendar month after employment begins, and you may begin to use sick days after (90) days of employment. Up to (4) earned sick days per year may be used as discretionary days. Vacation begins accruing the first of the month after one full calendar month after employment begins, and you may begin to use vacation days after (90) days of employment. The accrual rate is based upon years of service and approved hours worked. You will receive up to 2 personal days and 2 floating holidays per year based on date of hire. Birthday off with pay. Paid holidays are effective immediately Pension contributions (currently 5.25% of your earnings) begin the first quarter after 1 year of employment. The Salvation Army also offers a 403(b) voluntary retirement savings plan in which you may participate immediately, with approved vendors. There is currently no organizational match for 403(b) contributions.
Position Summary : The Community Center Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing programs for youth and adults which will benefit their emotional, physical and spiritual health. He / she will work to develop volunteer and employee leaders to work in all phases of the Community Center youth and adult oriented programs. He / she will work to build bridges between community needs and Salvation Army resources.
Responsibilities
- Creatively plan, develop and implement programs in response to community needs. This includes structured recreation, leagues and tournaments, unstructured recreation, after school program, summer day camp and special interest groups.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Community Center.
- Develop and maintain personal involvement with Community Center program participants with the ultimate goal of building relationships as to gain the right to share the Gospel.
- Planning, leading and executing the Summer Day Camp each summer. This includes monitoring the budget and keeping necessary records of payments, etc.
- Promote youth and adult ministry programs throughout the community.
- Work with Corps Officers to develop and coordinate rental agreements for outside groups.
- Assist the Corps Officers in conducting of the Christmas campaign. This may include but not limited to Special Dinners and other programs.
- Work with Corps Officers, volunteers and other staff to help this Corps fulfill its mission. This may include assisting in other activities from time to time that do not fall under your specific responsibilities.
- Assist casework with the Food Pantry, i.e., packing food for clients, maintaining clean environment, keeping Corps Officers aware of pantry stock.
