This Laboratory Manager will be responsible for :

• Managing the supervisors / staff of lab section(s), ensuring all work performed in the section(s) is accurate and completed within established or agreed upon turn-around times.
• Providing leadership and guidance in the development and evaluation of clinical practice, technical and departmental procedures and promotes professionalism.
• Developing, implementing and evaluating new methos, techniques or equipment and makes recommendation to the Director.
• Developing and implementing equitable criteria and processes which meet system standards, for selection, evaluation, promotion and terminations of all staff within designated area(s) of responsibility.
• Interviewing, selecting, promoting, disciplines and discharges employees in accordance with personnel policy and practice. Reviewing performance appraisals and proposed merit increases ensuring consistency amongst employees.
• Developing, evaluating and is accountable for meeting section budget.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, laws and requirements of requisite agencies by employing appropriate systems / processes.
• Determining, developing, evaluating and is accountable for budgets, administrative strategies and information systems in support of clinical programs(s).
• Leading individuals and work groups to continuously improve performance by creating an environment that ensures application of quality principles and techniques to achieve desired outcomes and fosters excellence, sensitivity and leadership.
• Coordinating research studies as determined by the Director(s)
• Maintaining professional liaisons with area schools and universities.

To qualify, you must have :

Certification, Registration, or Licensure Required :

Current registration / certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology ASCP in one of the following :
