The Role

Button Mash (TikTok : bttnmsh) is a unique gaming brand that aims to seamlessly blend the world of gaming with pop culture. With its distinct approach, Button Mash aims to captivate both seasoned and casual gamers, offering an entertaining experience that toggles the different levels of consumer gaming. From iconic collaborations with popular streamers and celebrities alike, Button Mash envisions the gaming landscape, becoming the ultimate destination for those curious about the gaming world.

BuzzFeed is looking for driven, passionate, unique creative voices to spearhead content creation for this platform. We're on the hunt for creators who have the current digital, pop culture, and video game landscapes embedded in their DNA, and who want to turn that combined expertise into a job creating exciting new content for Button Mash.

This position will hone your skills in creating both long-form and short-form video content, while teaching you how to channel BuzzFeed's industry-shaping voice and strategy to create some of the internet's most shareable videos. If you're someone who lives for gaming and is hungry to pursue a career in digital content creation, this is the perfect opportunity to receive the amplification and insight needed to expand your audience and grow into a creative powerhouse.

This is a 10-month contract position with a $25.00 an hour pay. We are looking for someone in the Los Angeles or New York City area willing to come into the office at least once a week. The application deadline to apply is Friday August 18th, at 5PM EST. The targeted start date for this position would be Monday September 18th.

You Will

• You will learn to own the creative process from ideation to execution; from brainstorming ideas, to physical production and shooting, all the way through the post-production and editing process.
• You will work with—and learn from—current BuzzFeed producers and other members of the Video team to enhance your skills and produce your most authentic work.
• You will : conceive, write, shoot, edit, and produce short-form and long-form video content
• Experiment and create new video formats and series
• Be an expert on the video game landscape who can anticipate and pounce on trends

You Have

1-2 years of proven experience creating compelling, shareable video or other viral content

Expertise in the video game space; an expert who lives and breathes the gaming world

Experience with DSLRs, basic sound / lighting equipment, and video editing

Experience and / or expertise in the streaming space

Adobe Creative Suite experience (especially Adobe Premiere)

Extremely knowledgeable about TikTok and YouTube

A genuine interest in what makes content shareable and viral

Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Ability to manage multiple projects throughout all stages of production

Ability to give and receive constructive criticism

A competitive drive with a positive, curious and collaborative disposition (no haters!)

An enthusiasm for pitching new ideas and concepts

Experience in front of the camera a plus
