Job Summary
The incumbent is responsible for writing, debugging, and testing computer software. He / she is a hands-on platform builder.
The instructor teaches in the discipline area(s) in which he / she has specific training and competence.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of computer systems, networks and applications theory and practices; tools, materials and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
- Knowledge of common learning management systems, such as BANNER and Blackboard.
- Skilled in the performance of tasks associated with LAN / WAN administration; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic systems and equipment.
- Strong communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal.
- Superior computer skills.
- Ability to train others in the use of varied equipment; maintain accurate records; train and direct the work of others.

Essential Job Functions
Designs, implements, supervises, and grades laboratories.Troubleshoots repairs, calibrates, and designs circuits, upgrades, and fabricates electronic test equipment.Trains and guides students to assure proper operation and maintenance of equipment and laboratory; distributes parts to students for use in laboratory exercises.Establishes and maintains computer laboratory procedures; plans and schedules software upgrades; tests, debugs, configures and documents software as required.Installs, administers, and monitors network operating system software.Maintains a fabrication area for assigned classes.Teaches lab components of courses.Advises undergraduate students and trains and directs the work of student assistants.Other related duties as assigned.Qualifications Two (2) years’ experience in the repair, maintenance, and operation of electronic equipment.
Three (3) years’ teaching experience at the collegiate level.
A Master’s degree in Computer Sciences / Information Technology may be considered in lieu of above experience.
